Three years ago, Apollo Cloud began with a simple ambition: to build a business communications provider that combined exceptional technology with genuinely personal service.

There was a new office, some early installations, plenty to learn and even the discovery of something called “space gin”. What started as an idea shared by co-founders Jonathan Marsden and Michelle Atkinson has since grown into a team of 10 people supporting 300 customers across the UK and beyond.

Apollo Cloud now provides business communications, internet connectivity and business mobile services to organisations across professional services, recruitment, education, healthcare and many other sectors.

During our first three years, we have:

• Completed our first acquisition
• Moved into our third office
• Achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification
• Won the Connect Yorkshire Fast Growth Award
• Been recognised as finalists at the Leeds Digital Festival Awards and Yorkshire Choice Awards
• Received dozens of five-star reviews from our customers

Technology backed by people

From the beginning, our aim was never simply to supply telephone systems, connectivity or mobile contracts.

We wanted to create a company that customers could rely on. That means providing the right technology, implementing it properly and being available when our customers need support.

Our “Powered by People” approach reflects the importance we place on personal service. Technology plays an essential role in helping organisations operate effectively, but it is the people behind that technology who make the real difference.

Whether we are delivering a new communications platform, supporting a multi-site organisation or helping a customer improve the way its teams work, our focus remains the same: practical advice, reliable solutions and responsive support.

Building expertise and trust

Achieving both ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification was an important milestone for Apollo Cloud.

These internationally recognised standards independently verify our approach to quality management and information security. They also demonstrate the processes, controls and commitment behind the service we provide.

Awards and certifications are always welcome, but the greatest measure of our success remains the feedback we receive from our customers. Every review, referral and recommendation means a great deal to our team.

Making a positive difference

We believe a successful business should also make a positive contribution to the communities it serves.

We are incredibly proud to support Candlelighters and the vital work the charity does for children with cancer and their families across Yorkshire. Our commitment equates to £100,000 of support over 10 years and has even included the creation of what may be the world’s only hot pink business telephone handset.

We also plant a tree for every new system user. Together, the trees planted through this initiative now cover an area equivalent to approximately three football pitches.

These projects are not an optional extra to us. They are part of the kind of company we want Apollo Cloud to be.

Work hard, have fun

The past three years have included major customer projects, office moves, an acquisition and plenty of ambitious plans.

They have also included charity challenges, team events, race days, escape rooms, tree planting and the occasional celebratory drink.

Building a business takes hard work, but we also believe it is important to enjoy the journey and create an environment where people feel valued, supported and part of something worthwhile.

None of what Apollo Cloud has achieved would have been possible without the people who have supported us.
